Eligibility Criteria for PM Youth Laptop Scheme
A student who wants to apply for PM Youth Laptop Scheme must be enrolled in the institutes recognized by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. Students who are enrolled in 18 years of education programs such as PhD, MPhil or MS, 4 or 5 years BS Degree Program (Regular and Self-support) and MBA Degree Programs based on time of 1.5, 2.5 or 3.5 years are eligible for PM Youth Laptop Scheme.
Moreover, students must make sure that they should not be pass-out students, they should be currently studying in their respective programs.
Ineligibility Criteria
There are the following conditions that are imposed to explain the ineligibility criteria of students. These are,
- Students should not belong to private institutes
- They should not have received any laptops before
- Their nationality should not be of any other country
- They should not belong to affiliated institutes
- If their documents are not correct or they fail to bring the documents on the spot if qualified.

Online Application Process and Verification
There is a proper and transparent method of selection and distribution and here is a complete detail in points about the selection and verification process.
- First of all, you have to apply through the online web portal of the HEC PM Youth Laptop Scheme.
- The online portal or the HEC system will check whether you are eligible or not.
- Then there will be a focal person from your university who will verify your data.
- If there is any incorrect data filled by you, the focal person will correct it with the help of the original documents of your existing data in the institute.
- Based on your information, you will be approved or disapproved by the focal person of your institute.
- The merit list will be displayed by the university as well as by HEC on their online portal.
- Based on the number of selected students, laptops will be sent to the respective institute.
- Then there will be a distribution ceremony in which selected students will get their laptops.
Distribution Criteria
Laptops to be awarded will be completely on a merit basis in each degree program from BS to PhD. HEC will set up a quota for each university, its campuses, degree programs, and departments. Balochistan’s private sector will be given separately 14% of the total laptops while the rest of the remaining laptops will be awarded to the students of public sectors of pakistan based on merit.
